so we meet again

It comes as no surprise when I say that I am really bad at keeping up with things. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that like most people, I get a bit caught up in my own life which is why my blog has suffered. However, luckily, I suppose, I don't really have a readership at the moment and so I am able to pop back in and out whenever I so please. However today I had my first ever Creative Writing lecture which was incredibly relaxing and inspiring. First of all, we spent the entire three hours sitting on bean bags, which in itself is a win. However, second of all, my lecturer encouraged everyone to try to write a little bit each day. Now I've always been a writer, I guess you could say, but since I've been at uni and started work, I've spent very little time actually writing, apart from the odd journal entry here and there. So I've decided that as an extra to try and get my creative juices flowing, to come back to this blog and write.

Now obviously, this is a fashion blog, so I will be writing about clothes and things like that. However, I do also want to add a lifestyle element to it and talk about things that I am doing in my life which may or may not associate with the outfit I show. Now, as I've said before, I am a very private person and so I don't like to get too personal, however I figured that there is nothing wrong with sharing some of my day to day life with you.

I think the reason why I find the upkeep of this blog so difficult is due to the photography aspect of things. Don't get me wrong- I absolutely love taking photos, however I do find taking photos of myself to be very difficult. I do not own a tripod or a high tech camera, and I also do not have a very big room, and so trying to get the perfect photo is difficult and takes a long time to do so. I also do not have the best lighting and so sometimes the photos I take aren't so great... The list goes on. However, I really am going to try my best to post at least once a week, on a Friday.

So, that's it for now! I hope that if anyone is actually reading this that you are doing well, and I will come back at you with a new post next week!

this is not a tablecloth

Top- Topshop, Skirt- Primark

You may have noticed that the past couple blog posts have taken place in multiple locations- this particular one is in Tenby. I actually spent three weeks travelling the UK with two of my best friends and we had an absolute blast- as I mentioned in my previous blog post! Tenby was absolutely gorgeous, and the weather that day was smashing! Unfortunately now it has reverted back to coat weather with speckles of rain. -.- Ahh well, you win some, you lose some.

As I am writing this post it 9:15 PM and I am sitting in bed. I work early morning shifts and so I have to get up at despicable times to get to work on time, but I actually really love working morning shifts. Whilst I do get tired at about midday, I feel ever so productive and I love having something to do with my days. I would be bored out of my mind if I wasn't working this summer. I'm trying to pick up as many shifts as possible as a little extra money during the school year doesn't hurt. I'm also trying to save up for a lot of things, but first I need to stop buying clothes and books! I think with my friends visiting I went a little wild with spending and now it is a matter of restraining myself. Already since they left I have bought a dress, two shirts and a pair of shoes! Someone needs to reign me in!

This outfit is one I absolutely adore, but I didn't feel particularly body confident in it. I feel as if it makes me look a lot larger than I am, but maybe that's just me.

Top-Primark, Skirt- New Look, Shoes- New Look

A couple of weeks ago I was visiting Brighton with my friends who were visiting from my homeland of Canada. I absolutely love Brighton: it's such a cute and cosy little town, yet it has so many things to do and see and so I knew it was an absolute must see! It was lovely to find out that my friends loved Brighton as much as I do!

It was actually a lot warmer than I expected on this day, but nonetheless I had a fantabulous time! We even got papped while we were eating Brighton Rocks which was a weird, but interesting experience!

Top-Next, Trousers-Next, Shoes- F&F at Tesco, Bag-Primark

So I realise that I have been absent from the blogosphere for quite a while now which I sincerely apologise for. I got extremely busy with school and then I started working and everything blog related got put on the back burner. However, hopefully I am back for good this time!

I'll also be doing quite a bit of revamping and redesigning with my blog, and you may have noticed that it has gone through several name changes, however I am hoping this one (Mahogany) will stick! I figured that What Would Audrey Wear was slightly too long of a title, and something about it didn't feel quite right to me!

I saw a lady working in Next wearing this outfit and I immediately knew that I had to have it as she looked so gorgeous in it! The trousers were quite expensive- £35 to be exact, which is usually more than I would be willing to pay for any given item. However, I'd been looking for a pair of polka dotted trousers for a while and the quality was so good I just couldn't pass it up! They were also incredibly comfortable- which is always an added bonus! I'm not usually one for clashing patterns, but something about this outfit works!

Coat-New Look, Top-H&M, Skirt-Topshop, Cardigan-Charity Shop (originally F&F at Tesco), Brogues-New Look.

I recently saw this polka dot shirt in H&M and I knew that I had to have it. It's very simple, but feminine at the same time and easy to pair with different items. I wore this outfit to class a couple of weeks ago and it was very comfortable. I like this denim skirt in particular because it not only fits well, but it also isn't scandalously short. I then paired it with a fitted coat and some brogues and voila, you have an effortlessly polished look!

I am also still trying to learn how to format my pictures, I can't seem to get them all to be the same size! Stay tuned for some more blog posts, I know I haven't been very regular with my posting, but hopefully that will all be resolved within the next couple of weeks!
